MNI USA News: 2015 MNI USA New Year Message
Mboho Ndito Ibibio USA Inc. is a non-profit organization exempt under United States IRS code 501(C)3, comprised of Ibibio people from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria residing in United States of America. MNI USA INC., would like to wish all of you a happy new year and take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your efforts in helping us accomplish our 2014 objectives. Just to name a few:
- We successfully conducted our annual face to face executive meeting in March hosted by Philadelphia Chapter.
- In June, Atlanta Chapter, rolled out the red carpet for our 9th annual national convention which featured Edidem Edet Akpan Inyang, Paramount Ruler, Itu Local Government and Secretary, Uyio Ikpaisong of Ibibio Nation.
- MNI USA INC., also announced and paid-out scholarships to (4) recipients, with GPA’s of 3.3 to 3.6, attending Troy University, University of Louisville, Wayne County Community College, and Davenport University.
- Additionally, we held several community outreach seminars on the new Immigration Reform Bill and on a government sponsored Information Technology Training Program for our youths to acquire skills and be self-sufficient and adults seeking career change.
We have many more activities lined up for the New Year and I am sure with your dedication and determination we will be able to complete those in due time. In March, Tyler chapter will host our 2015 Executive Council Meeting. Our 10th anniversary annual convention will be hosted by Philadelphia Chapter in June. Please stay tuned for more details, which will be released as they become available. Finally, with today being the first day of the New Year it is a great time for us to re-communicate to our organization’s objectives, which are as followed:
- To function as a qualified non-profit, public benefit organization in accordance with the Statutes, Laws, Rules and Regulations relating to non-profit organizations as defined in Section 501(C)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code
- To preserve the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the Ibibio people
- To encourage qualitative education among Ibibio youths by establishing scholarships and whenever possible, to support educational institutions towards the advancement of this goal
- To promote social awareness and interaction amongst Ibibio people, and our host community
- To collaborate with other organizations on mutually beneficial activities and projects, which are ancillary and conducive to the growth of Mboho
